Suggestions?

With the Raspberry Pi, and other inexpensive SoC-based boards, RISC OS could see increased interest. What would you like to see in Aemulor?

I'm afraid not. It's the width of each screen that must be a multiple of 256 pixels, not the total width of your desktop.

I'll try to wrap up the free update for later NV card support over Xmas, whilst I (at least officially) have some time away from the project that's now paying the bills. Since that has a somewhat ludicrous deadline in early January itself, don't take this as a promise :-/

That implies that something Aemulor was running crashed, although it could potentially be a fault in Aemulor itself. Either way I presume you've had the Iyonix switched on but unused for that period so that the recurring fault has gone unnoticed? Aemulor generates log files in response to faults onl...

Re: range of cards

Is there a list of video cards that work with Rom v5.12 and Geminus please? Just GeForce2 MX 400 with the current release version of Geminus. This is largely because the software searches only for cards of that type (that was all that Castle provided and supported at that time), rather than the sof...

Make sure that you don't still have the demo copy lying around; if you installed it in the recommended location ($.!Boot.Choices.Boot.PreDesk) make sure that you only have one copy of Geminus in that directory, or if you've added it to the boot tasks using Configuration UI, as some people have done,...

The most probable explanation is that it's a bug/oversight in the redraw cacheing code. It has been observed to give problems with other applications such as StrongED and for now the only solution is to disable redraw cacheing (the righthand tick box) for the affected application(s) in the Geminus c...

(a) Is there a chance that Geminus will be changed to so work? I already have a version that works but I don't want to release it just yet because I've had to disable some of the sprite plotting acceleration because its magic doesn't work on this chipset. (b) Will this give performance advantages b...

Geminus should be fine with RO 5.12 and existing graphics cards. It will not work with the FX5200/5500 cards currently because they identify themselves as a different card type that released versions of Geminus know nothing about.

You could always try nagging me to actually implement the code I was talking about writing a couple of years ago  ... it should be possible to use the NVidia graphics hardware to scale a low resolution mode to the native resolution of your TFT so that both the game and the TFT are happy. All i...

I don't have OHP to test with, but Geminus is very noticably faster* than the OS at rendering one of my test images that is 32M pixels (earth.jpg, thanks Michael!) at 20% in !Thump. I'd suggest that you try the same image in !Thump, !Draw and/or other apps that display scaled JPEGs. Not knowing how ...

It can also be worth finding out what screen resolution the game requires and making sure that you have a suitable definition in the MDF for your monitor. An example MDF which provides some common resolutions is provided here: http://buyit.spellings.net/support.zip Note: the above link is currently ...

Oh right, yes Geminus can do that. Here's a possible starting point for the 1280 x 768 mode: # 1280 x 768 (75Hz) startmode mode_name:1280 x 768 x_res:1280 y_res:768 pixel_rate:137500 h_timings:172,90,100,1280,40,36 v_timings:3,32,128,768,128,3 sync_pol:0 endmode To use any combination of screens of ...

I think you mean 2048 x 768 (where 2048 = 1024 + 1024), and that should work, yes. LCDs will automatically resample the video signal to scale it to the screen but the results can be visually unacceptable. Of course that's subjective. Some monitors will produce better results than others, but really ...
