Sibelius 7 Music Software

Post by Derek Spedding » Wed Dec 11, 2002 10:15 am

Are there any plans to make the Sibelius Music Software compatible with the Iyonix pc?

Thank you, Derek Spedding

If you have a copy, you can upload to the ftp. If noone has already done so, I'll be uploading Sibelius 6 early in the new year.

Perfect timing! Hot off the press....I've just tried a copy of
Sibelius 7 on the Iyonix and it runs as far as can be expected
given that Aemulor doesn't emulate the 4-colour mode that
Sibelius requires.... it will do in a later version but the good
news so far is that it does start up and the menus work etc.

One problem I'm having, though, is that the version I have
access to (3.5) doesn't work on my RiscPC with RISC OS 4.
Are there are known issues here? Should I be using a
different version?

Specifically it produces a data abort whenever I click
on the work area whilst the right-facing arrow is
displayed (after starting with a blank manuscript and
choosing an instrument).

There was a problem with the installer, and - in order to
try Sib7 at all - I've had to patch the app so it may be
that I've broken it, but I don't think I have!

Could a kind soul please email me a couple of (smallish)
sample files so that I can get it to do something more useful.

Thanks for your help,

Adrian
